GRADING SYSTEM

Please read & understand this before buying.

Radios and other items are graded using the following guidelines. Unless specified otherwise, items being offered for sale are in "as-found" condition and will need, at least, cleaning. Each item will be rated for overall appearance. For instance, a radio rated as "Excellent" will be ready for display with, perhaps, a dusting /touch-up polishing. A "Very Good" radio will need a good cleaning /polishing & possibly minor touch-up of the wood finish or the painted surfaces. Then there is "Good", "Fair" & "Poor" which is a challenging restoration project or a parts set.

If a radio is graded "Very Good" then all visible parts of it (dial, grille cloth, back, etc) are in the same, or better, condition unless noted otherwise & the chassis, as much of it as I can see without disassembly, will have little or no rust & appear to be complete.

Any cracks or chips that I see will be noted.

These are not ebay descriptions, the good points are not exaggerated & the faults are plainly stated.
I try my best to point out every defect I see that, when buying for my own collection, I would make note of to determine how much the item is worth to me. The higher priced a radio is the more scrutiny it is subjected to. After reading my descriptions you might think I sell nothing but junk because I put the spotlight on what is wrong with the radio rather than try to make it appear better than it is. There is a reason for that........

Working

"Working" in the description means I ran it briefly & got reception of some kind from it. Hum, distortion, etc will be mentioned if noticed. "Working" is meant more to reassure the Collector/Restorer that the set is not going to go up in smoke as soon as it's powered up than to indicate that it's ready to use. On most items you're probably going to have to, at least, clean the controls, probably recap a tube radio & maybe more. Working condition is stated as a separate item in the description & is not related to overall appearance rating.

Items that are priced in the hundreds of dollars & higher are tested much more thoroughly & described in more detail but, unless specifically stated, the item has not been re-capped, re-tubed or gone over by a technician. I just present it as found & describe honestly what I see & hear .

GUARANTEE

If you are not satisfied with any item (other than "Exceptions" noted below) you receive just contact me within 5 days & return it, prepaid, in the same condition as received. I'll refund the purchase price, exchange it for another set of equal value or credit the amount towards your next purchase. In the 48 contiguous states I will ship the replacement, or future purchase, by UPS ground service AT MY EXPENSE if the weight is about the same as the returned item. S&H charges for shipments outside the 48 states will not be reimbursed. 

TUBE GUARANTEE

 New tubes (other than  horizontal amplifier tubes ie: sweep or linear tubes) are guaranteed to meet  manufactures specifications for a period of 90 days after ship date unless they are operated outside of manufacturers specifications or broken.

#1 & #1+ Used tubes guaranteed to be as described for 30 days after ship date unless they are operated outside of manufacturers specifications or broken. #2 & #3 guaranteed 5 days.

Exceptions
A very few items are marked "Not returnable", "As-is", "No guarantee" or "Not guaranteed" It should be obvious to most people but, in case it isn't,  that means the the item may or may not work and it is not returnable. 

My primary concern is that you are happy with everything you purchase.

PARTS

I also offer a very large selection of used individual parts from the RADIO JUNKYARD. No need to buy a whole chassis hoping that 1 or 2 parts on it that you need are good.
Unless noted otherwise each individual part that you order will function as originally intended and be very good in appearance considering it's age.
Batteries and capacitors are sold for appearance only and are not guaranteed electrically.
Electrical sub-assemblies may need tubes and/or restoration.
When a chassis is sold as a unit from the Parts selections it is sold as-is and not returnable.

SHIPPING

Paid orders (Paypal, Visa, Mastercard) received before noon (Eastern time) Monday through Thursday will generally be shipped the Next day.

During the ordering process you have several options to chose from, depending on the desired speed.

Overseas shipping is available( Note: for any shipment going outside the 50 United States a $6.00 handling fee will be included in the total you see  in your shopping cart during the ordering process ).

Multiple items will be shipped in same box when possible  to save you shipping expense.

The shopping cart will accurately calculate shipping cost for multiple parts & tubes or a couple radios but if you're buying 4 or more radios at the same time I may be able to save you more than the shopping cart calculates. Any significant excess will be returned.
